Festival of Indoor Hockey - Player Nominations
The Festival of Indoor Hockey will be held at The Silverdome in Launcestonfrom the 22nd -24th November.
We will be running competitions in the following age groups:
- u14 Boys and Girls
- u16 Boys and Girls
- u18 Boys and Girls
- Open Men
- Open Women
Age eligibility will reflect that of 2024 i.e. If a player was age eligible for u14s in 2024 they will eligible for u14s at this years festival.
Nominations will be $30 per player.
PLayers must nominate in their respective age groups.
Our aim is to run all junior age groups (14s, 16s and 18s) as regional teams (NorthWest, North and South). This is subject to change and dependent on the number of nominations that we recieve.
For the Open age groups, we will aim to create teams based on their region. Where this isn't possible regions will be merged together.
Rosters for the Festival will be released once we have a clearer idea of the number of teams that will be competing during the festival. We will aim to create teams based on their region, where this isn't possible regions will be merged together.

Festival of Indoor Hockey 2023
The Festival of Indoor Hockey will be held at The Silverdome in Launceston 2nd and 3rd December.
We will be running competitions in the following age groups:
- u13 Mixed Div 1 and 2
- u15 Mixed
- u18 Boys
- Open Men
- Open Women
These age groups reflect the range of nominations we received and have made sure that all players are getting equal opportunity to compete whilst managing player load and ensuring that competition is fair for all teams.

Festival of Indoor Hockey
2022 Festival of Indoor Hockey (26-27 November 2022)
The 2022 edition of the Festival of Indoor Hockey will be held at the Silverdome, Launceston, 26 & 27 November 2022.
Tournament Fee is included in Player Nomination and will not be refunded once teams have been confirmed.

Tournament Rules
- Teams in each age group will play each other once with top two teams only playing finals.
- Teams must consist of no more than 9 players inclusive of at least one goalkeeper, who must wear protective equipment.
- U13 and U15 Mixed teams must have a minimum of 4 girls.
- All matches will be played in accordance with the normal rules of hockey, except as designated.
- Matches will consist of two x 20 minute halves with a three minute half time break. If a corner is played out after the siren, then half time will be reduced.
- Games will start strictly on time. There will be no extra time in the event of a draw.
- All teams must wear the nominated uniform as advised on the Entry Form.
- Captains must be clearly indicated on the court (ie: wearing a ribbon or arm/leg band.)
- Interchange rules will apply whereby players will report to the Technical Bench with Team Manager
Points will be awarded as follows: Win – three points Draw – one point Loss – no points
Competition format
Each age group will play either a 3 or 4 team round robin competition dependent upon number of teams entered. At the end of the round robin matches teams are ranked either 1 to 4 or 1 to 3 according to the number of points. If two or more teams are equal on points, then goal difference will be used to determine the rankings to go into the final matches.
Umpires & Match Managers
Umpires will be allocated to each match. All teams must provide a Match Manager for each game. Umpires and Match Managers should ensure that matches start on time.
Match Managers will be responsible for match timing, scoring, interchange procedures and timing of suspensions when necessary. On completion, ensure that scorecards are returned to the Tournament Director. NOTE: The clock must be started at the designated time.
Equipment
A crate of indoor balls will be supplied on each court.
First Aid
Each team must attend to their own first aid requirements. Basic First Aid kits and ice are provided at each technical bench. A First Aid room and stretcher is also available.
Venue rules
All participants are to abide by the Rules of the Silverdome.

The 2021 edition of the Festival of Indoor Hockey is here! Over the weekend of 4-5 December 2021 at the Silverdome in Launceston there will be the Regional Indoor Challenge again with teams from all over the state from all age groups coming together to enjoy this fast, fun, exciting version of hockey.
