The Tasmanian Under 18 Boys have fallen to a 1-6 defeat at the hands of NSW State in their final pool match, despite taking an early lead and pushing their opponents all the way in the first half.

Tyler McDonald (4′) opened the scoring with a drag flick from a PC, with Tassie dominant for the entire first quarter. However NSW were able to scratch their way 2-1 in front at half-time, before getting a few lucky calls and goals to win with an inflated scoreline.

Tasmania will now play off for a potential 5th-placed finish on Tuesday.

The Tasmanian Under 18 Girls have finished their pool matches with a strong showing against WA, losing 0-3 despite pushing their opponents all the way.

It was another great team performance after their win against the ACT yesterday, with some fantastic attacking runs down the wings from Sophie Rockefeller and Lucy Cooper, some uncompromising midfield play by Phillida Bridley, and some desperate defensive efforts from Charlotte Vandenberg, Livinia Sproule, and Chloe Cooper. They created several great chances on goal too, and were highly unlucky not to walk away with a few goals.
