Southern Social Hockey

Hockey Tasmania offers a number of programs suited to more casual, social, or family participation.

Over the spring months of 2021 (October/November/December) we are offering social hockey in Hobart (Monday Nights & Saturday Afternoons) mixed 11 a-side modified rules.

Where:        Tasmanian Hockey Centre, Bell St New Town

When:          Saturday 16 Oct - Monday 18 Dec (10 Week roster)

Cost:            Serious Social (Monday) - $120 Per team, per game  Family Social (Saturdays) - $90 per team, per game. 

Serious Social: Monday Nights at THC, games at 6pm, 7pm and 8pm (2x25 minute halves) 
Family Social: Saturday Afternoons at THC, games at 12pm, 1pm and 2pm (2x25 minute halves) 

Rules:           
The following rules must be followed with no exceptions: 

• Penalty corners are to be played as long corners
• A maximum of 5 males on the field at any one time 
• Men or Women cannot hit the ball 
• Boys or Girls U14 may hit the ball within reason 
• 2 x 25 minute halves

The games are to be played in a friendly manner for everyone's enjoyment.

Umpires: 
All teams must supply and provide payment to their own umpires. 
A supplementary list of available umpires to fill in will be available on the Hockey Tasmania Website. 

Registration: 
All players must be registered with Hockey Tasmania for insurance purposes before the first game.

For 'registration type' please select either: 
"HT Junior Social/Summer Hockey Registration 2021" if you are under the age of 18 or 
"HT Senior Summer/Social Hockey Registration 2021" if you are over the age of 18

Forfeit:  
All forfeiting teams must notify Hockey Tasmania 24 hours prior to the scheduled game. 
Failure to do so, may result in a penalty.
