2019 Development Structure
Hockey Tasmania provides development opportunities for beginners through to experienced club players from ages 6-18 years. Sessions are offered as a one day clinic at our School Holiday Program or in multiple 1 hour sessions as a Development Program.
Hockey Tasmania offers a Basic Skills Holiday Program for beginners and existing School and Stick2Hockey players along with a Super Skills Session for junior club players.
Get into Hockey Program
Multiple 1 hour sessions (usually 5 weeks) basic skill development program for beginners and existing School and Stick2Hockey players.
Hockey Tasmania delivers three levels of continuing development throughout the year, a Skill Development Program (SDP), Junior Emerging Training Squad (JETS) and Junior Development Program (JDP) in each region. The development focus will be on essential skills with the SDP sessions for those athletes who are not necessarily seeking state selection but would like additional coaching. JETS is aimed at athletes seeking State selection in U12/U13 age groups. Junior Development Program (JDP) is a state trial preparation session offered as a 2-4 week program for specific age groups (U15/U16/U18) to help prepare athletes for state selection. Programs run as close to trial dates as possible.
All programs held in Hobart, Launceston and Burnie.
