About the Role

Hockey Tasmania is seeking a dynamic and passionate North-West Coast Hockey Lead, Southern Hockey Lead and a Northern Hockey Lead to drive the growth, participation, and development of hockey across the relevant region. This pivotal role involves delivering engaging school programs, supporting local clubs, and fostering hockey pathways from grassroots to elite levels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Primary School Programs: Develop and lead hockey programs in primary schools, introducing students to the sport and inspiring them to join local clubs.
  • Community Engagement: Build strong relationships with clubs, schools, and stakeholders to grow hockey participation.
  • Program Delivery: Coordinate fun, skill-building hockey events, including "Come and Try" days, Hookin2Hockey clinics, and competitions for children aged 5-12.
  • Coaching & Development: Recruit, train, and mentor casual coaches, ensuring high-quality, inclusive coaching experiences.
  • Marketing & Promotion: Collaborate with Hockey Tasmania’s marketing team to promote hockey programs and increase community awareness.

 

About You

Essential:

  • Experience in sports program management or community engagement.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Passion for hockey or team sports and a willingness to champion the game.
  • Working with Vulnerable People Card and a valid driver’s license.

Desirable:

  • Coaching accreditation, umpiring, or hockey administration experience.
  • Familiarity with school systems and delivering sports programs.

  • Flexible schedule to support events and programs, including evenings and weekends.
