The June Long Weekend Junior Intrastate Challenge (or JLW for short) is the center-piece junior hockey tournament in Tasmania, played annually across the Queen's Birthday Long Weekend in June alternating between Hobart and Launceston. U13, U15, and U18 representative sides from the 3 major regions in the state (North-West, North, and South) converge and play in a tournament designed to encourage participation and development of players, coaches, umpires, and officials.
The overall theme of the tournament is one of participation. This event provides our junior players with a rewarding and enjoyable experience for all participants, some who may not have the opportunity of experiencing representation at the State level.
