Published Tue 20 Apr 2021

The Tassie U15 Boys claimed the silver medal after brilliantly winning through to the final but losing 2-4 to the powerful NSWS team that won every single game they played. Oliver Stebbings scored twice in the final to have Tassie at 2-2 for a large portion of the match, until NSWS found 2 goals in the second half.

Stebbings was also named Player of the Tournament and finished third on the overall goalscoring charts with 8.

It was a memorable tournament for the Boys, especially their classic, against-all-odds performance to win the semi-final 5-4 against Victoria.

Tassie U15 Girls finished the tournament well with a 1-1 draw against VICD. Ella Scolyer was the goalscorer in the first quarter.

It was a tough championships for the young Tassie side but they were never outclassed, showing tremendous fighting spirit and getting many commendable results against the bigger states.

On behalf of the Hockey Tasmania Board, CEO, and staff congratulations to the players and team staff, and thank you to all the parents and supporters who were there to cheer them on at every game, as well as to everyone who tuned into the livestreams.
