Suns, Baptist Claim 2021 GNL Titles
Published Sun 12 Sep 2021
The Greater Northern League held it's 2021 season Grand Finals at Meercroft Park in Devonport on Saturday 11 September on a day that had all four seasons and saw the South Launceston Suns Women and Burnie Baptist Men crowned respective champions.
Despite no Devonport-based teams participating in the Grand Finals this year the regional competitions convenors and GNL clubs stuck by their decision at the start of the year to host the Men's and Women's GNL Grand Finals back-to-back at the same venue, resulting in one of the biggest crowds for a GNL Grand Final, a superb shared event at Meercroft Park to celebrate the season, and both games being livestreamed for free on the Hockey Tasmania YouTube Channel drawing in additional viewers from other states and territories of Australia, as well as from overseas!
