Winc-Toshiba Regional Manager Tony Hawkins and Hockey Tasmania CEO Damian Smith were at the Tasmanian Hockey Centre on Tuesday, with the Premier League players, to announce the deal and officially launch the season in front of the media.
“Winc, with our partner Toshiba, are very proud to play such an important role in supporting the thousands of students, athletes and workers who participate in hockey throughout Tasmania,” Mr Hawkins said.
“Part of our mission is to inspire all Tasmanian workers and learners and this partnership absolutely makes that happen.”
Mr Smith made it clear that the naming rights partnership was a big step towards securing the future of the sport in the state.
“We’re delighted to welcome Winc-Toshiba into the Hockey Tasmania family, and these commercial partnerships are vital for the future of our sport.
“The support for our elite club competition and athletes from Winc-Toshiba shows that they’re as committed as we are to helping Tasmanians achieve at the highest level in the sporting arena.”
The Winc-Toshiba Premier League pushes back this Saturday at 3pm at the Tasmanian Hockey Centre, with DiamondBacks playing Derwent in the Women’s competition on ground 1 and Canterbury playing University in the Men’s competition on ground 2.
